Ms. Michelle Jackson, MSS, LCSW is a staff therapist at Council for
Relationships and serves as the Assistant Director of the University
City office. Ms. Jackson received
her Masters degree in clinical social work from Bryn Mawr College
Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. After internships at
the Hahnemann Inpatient Psychiatric Medical Care Unit and Council for
Relationships, Ms. Jackson joined CFR's clinical staff in 2007. She is
licensed as a social worker in the state of Pennsylvania and is a member
of the Pennsylvania Society of Clinical Social Workers.
Ms. Jackson works with individuals, couples, and families. She has
experience treating individual clients with anxiety, depression, bipolar
disorder, adjustment disorders, trauma, and bereavement. Much of her
work with couples focuses on relationship and intimacy enhancement, as
well as sexual health and improved communication.
Before training as a therapist, Ms. Jackson worked with non-profit
organizations in human relations and fiscal administration, and
maintained a successful practice as a personal fitness trainer and
professional organizer. Because of her skills in these areas, she is a
good choice for individuals seeking to design, establish, or refine the
systems in their personal and work lives. This prior experience informs
her work on personal growth, increasing self-esteem, managing
transitions, and work-life coaching.
Ms. Jackson brings a sensitivity to issues of diversity in terms of
race, gender, culture, and sexual orientation to her work. She has a
particular interest in working with individuals with chosen or invisible
identities, biracial/bicultural couples, and multi-racial families. She
enjoys working with those who are new to therapy as well as those who
have had previous experiences with the therapeutic process.
